As we reported earlier, JSC Thermal Power Plants and JSC Talimarjan TPP signed agreements with foreign companies - Intecsa Ingeniera Industrial S.A., Spain, and Mitsubishi Corporation, Japan for the construction of the next combined cycle power units with a capacity of 1065 MW. Today, 24 July, construction of these power units has begun.
According to the contracts, by the end of 2025, two more combined cycle gas units with a total capacity of 1065 MW will be constructed at the Talimarjan TPP. The general constructor of this project is a consortium of Intecsa Ingeniera Industrial S.A. and Mitsubishi Corporation. The total cost of the project is $771.8 million.
The new investment project is aimed to provide reliable electricity to consumers in Samarkand and Bukhara regions, seven pumping stations on the Karshi main canal.
As a result of the project, the company will generate an additional 8.5 billion kWh of electricity per year. Highly efficient technologies will save 600 million cubic meters of natural gas.
Another crucial factor of the project is reducing 1,500 tons of air pollutant emissions and creating 112 new workplaces.
