On August 22-24, 2021, the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan and JSC Thermal Power Plants held “Happy Youth of New Uzbekistan” forum under the motto “Let’s live freely and prosperously in New Uzbekistan!”, at Turakurgan Thermal Power Plant in Namangan region.
The event was held based on the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan of December 17, 2020 “On the preparation and holding at a high level of the celebration of the Thirtieth Anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.
“The youth forum has been organized at Turakurgan Thermal Power Plant to acquaint our youth with this unique facility built at the initiative of the President”, said Farkhod Abdurakhmanov, Chairman of the Board of JSC Thermal Power Plants.
The forum was attended by energy companies of the country, as well as the youth of Namangan region.
Competitions in football, table tennis and chess were organized within the framework of the forum.
Competitions were held on ensuring fire safety and providing first aid to personnel, which are very important areas in thermal power plants.
At the initiative of the Ministry of Energy, 4 orphans and families with disabled children living in Turakurgan district of Namangan region were provided with newly built houses to ensure the implementation of the resolutions of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev of August 9, 2021 “On measures to introduce a new system of state support for orphans and children left without parental care” and of August 9, 2021 “On measures to further improve the quality of medical and social services provided to persons with disabilities”.
“This new residential complex was completed as part of the investment project for the construction of Turakurgan Thermal Power Plant. Even though the new residential complex is designed primarily for use by employees of the station, the children deprived of parental care and families with children with disabilities were also allocated to ensure the implementation of the tasks set by the President”, said Iskandar Basidov, Director General of Turakurgan TPP.
Within the framework of the event, a Meeting of Three Generations took place on the reforms implemented in recent years to provide electricity to the regions of the valleys the ongoing socio-economic changes taking place in the region.
It was attended by young power engineers, industry professionals and guests from all over the country, as well as Turakurgan elders and labor veterans.
The forum ended with a gala concert dedicated to the 30th Anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
At the event, 20 young specialists of the energy sector, who entered the higher education institution in the 2021/2022 academic year, were awarded certificates of payment of contract fees for 5 years.
The winners of all competitions and contests held during the day were also awarded diplomas and gifts.
The solemn concert program included songs glorifying the motherland, peace and tranquility, and gratitude for today’s bright days.
The festivities ended with a fireworks display.
