JSC Thermal Power Plants with the participation of international partners carries out systematic work on the introduction of modern, highly efficient and energy-saving technologies in electricity production.
The next investment project will be implemented at Tashkent TCP. By 2024, two gas turbine units with a capacity of 32 MW each will be built here, and the Turkish company Çalik Energy will act as the general contractor for the project.
The ceremony of signing agreements between JSC Tashkent TCP and the company Çalik Energy took place at JSC Thermal Power Plants.
“The Çalik Energy is witnessing great transformations taking place in the energy sector of Uzbekistan, we have participated in the construction of modern combined-cycle plants at Navoi and Turakurgan thermal power plants, which have no analogs in the world”, says project manager Zahid Arıcı. – The next destination is Tashkent Thermal Cogeneration Plant. I think that we will organize the project with great efficiency and contribute to the development of the country’s energy system.
The total cost of the project is $109.243 million, of which:
Funds of the Japanese agency JICA – $81.06 million;
own funds – $15.46 million;
The contribution of the Republic of Uzbekistan is $12.71 million.
The implementation of this project will lead to an increase in the generating capacities of Tashkent TCP. As a result, the enterprise will additionally generate 515.6 million kWh of electricity and 690.3 thousand Gcal of thermal energy per year, while 219 thousand cubic meters of natural gas will be saved due to highly efficient technologies.
Emissions of pollutants into the environment will be reduced by 200.5 tons.
The power plant is highly efficient, the efficiency of which is 64 percent.
