JSC Thermal Power Plants plans to implement several major investment projects following the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan of December 30, 2021, No.RP-72 “On approval of the Investment Program of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2022-2026 and the introduction of new approaches and mechanisms for managing investment projects”.
It is planned to build and put into operation two steam and gas units with a total capacity of 900 MW at Talimarjan TPP, two steam and gas units with a total capacity of 1,300 MW at Navoi TPP and two gas turbines with a capacity of 32 MW each at Tashkent TPC.
In addition, it is planned to implements several projects for the creation of a system of safe and stable operation and maintenance of existing power plants, equipment modernization, supply of spare parts, capacity building of service personnel and improving high efficiency and reliability of electricity generation in Uzbekistan
During the Tashkent International Investment Forum, which began on March 24, JSC Thermal Power Plants has reached several beneficial agreements with international partners.
In February 2022, talks were held with representatives of Italy’s AC BOILERS S.p.A on issues such as carrying out modernization works to increase the stability of traditional thermal power plants, increasing the efficiency of heating boilers in the use of existing gas turbines and steam boilers. The negotiations served to sign a memorandum between AC BOILERS S.p.A. and JSC Thermal Power Plants to increase the capacity of the system enterprises by installing environmentally friendly energy equipment.
