On June 2, 2022, Sasol and Uzbekistan GTL signed a Memorandum of Understanding for supply of low-temperature Fischer-Tropsch™ (LTFT™) catalysts.
The signing took place at the 27th Caspian Oil and Gas International Exhibition as part of the Baku Energy Week, one of the most prestigious events in the Caspian region’s energy sector, which takes place in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
The Memorandum of Understanding builds on the original catalyst supply agreement of 2018 between Sasol and Uzbekistan GTL and includes supply of a new generation catalyst.
“The Memorandum of Understanding is an important step in expanding our fruitful cooperation with our reliable partner - Uzbekistan GTL. We are watching with keen interest the success of the GTL project in Uzbekistan. We are confident that supply of next generation catalysts will further enhance performance of our manufacturing processes,” said Dr. Kronje Grove, Vice President for Advanced Materials, Sasol Chemicals.
Sasol Chemicals' leadership position in GTL catalysts is underlined by the recent creation of CARE-O-SENE consortium, focused on development and production of next generation catalysts Sasol eco (G3).

Baku Energy Week is the most representative event of the oil and gas and energy sector in the Caspian region, the opening ceremony of which was attended by Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
