A 500 MW wind power plant is being built by the Emirati company Masdar in the Tomdinsky district of Navoi region.
The power plant, which is planned to be put into operation by the end of 2024, will produce 1 billion 800 million kWh of electricity per year. As a result, 540 million cubic meters of natural gas per year will be saved and 720 thousand tons of greenhouse gases will be prevented from being released into the atmosphere.
The total cost of this megaproject is 600 million US dollars due to foreign direct investment.
It is important to note that up to 800 new jobs will be created during the construction of the station, and 30 new jobs will be created at the time of commissioning.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, this major project is being implemented on the basis of the decree of the President of the country dated December 22, 2020.
