Upon realization of the investment project “Construction of the third combined cycle plant with a capacity of 650 MW at Navoi TPP”, between “Navoi TPP” JSC and “Mitsubishi Power Ltd.” was signed a contract for the construction of this plant.
The project is implemented due to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from December 28, 2022, № PP-459 “On measures to implement the investment program of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2023-2025”.
According to the terms of the contract, Mitsubishi Power Ltd. will construct a new, modern, and energy-efficient combined cycle gas turbine plant with a capacity of 650 MW at Navoi TPP located in Karmana district of Navoi region.
The project implementation period is 2023-2026. The investment project will be implemented with the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) funding.
As a result of the project implementation, the energy system of the Republic will generate additional electricity in the amount of 4.8 billion kWh annually. Due to the introduction of modern and energy-efficient equipment, it is planned to save 1 billion cubic meters of gas and create 347 new jobs.
