As part of Uzbekistan’s strategy to develop its chemical and energy industries, the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Uzbekistan Hydrogen Peroxide JV LLC have announced the construction of a new plant for the production of hydrogen peroxide.
Uzbekistan Hydrogen Peroxide JV LLC is a production company established to implement deep gas processing projects.
The plant will produce 50,000 tonnes of hydrogen peroxide annually, which is in demand both on the domestic and foreign markets. The project will remove the need to import hydrogen peroxide to Uzbekistan. It will also enable the export of products to the CIS and foreign countries and create new jobs.
The product – which will meet all technical/environmental standards - is in demand in various industries such as medicine, textiles, pulp and paper, mining, waste water aeration, food processing and waste processing and
Total investment in the project is US$40 million, with implementation in two stages:
- Construction of a plant for production of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2);
- Construction of a plant for the production of sodium percarbonate (Na2CO3-1.5H2O2).
The project will be implemented in the Navoi Free Economic Zone and its commissioning is expected in the spring of 2021.
